New Nalanda University to be built in Bihar State, India

A new Nalanda University is to be built near the site of the ancient Buddhist University of Nalanda. Nalanda was a famous centre of learning for the whole of the Buddhist world from the 5th century to the 12th century and it is hoped that the new university will prove to be a centre of excellence for Asian learning in much the same way.
